Omar's daughter decries 'hypocrisy,' says anti-Israel students are '100% targeted' after suspension and arrest
Rep. Ilhan Omar’s, D-Minn., daughter Isra Hirsi claimed over the weekend that she and fellow anti-Israel protesters faced “physical harm” from opponents spraying “chemical weapons” while protesting at Columbia University. Columbia University has been engulfed in protests over Israel’s ongoing military operation in Gaza. Hirsi was suspended from Barnard College, one of Columbia’s undergraduate schools, and arrested by the NYPD for her participation in the anti-Israel protest on Columbia University’s campus. The NYPD claimed she was among more than 100 people issued a summons for trespassing. Hirsi and a fellow protester appeared on Saturday’s episode of MSNBC’s “Ayman Mohyeldin Reports,” where she was asked if student activists like herself are…

HELP chairman Bernie Sanders avoids agreeing to campus antisemitism hearings
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., wouldn’t commit Tuesday to holding hearings on college antisemitism as tensions escalate across the country with anti-Israel demonstrations persisting at elite universities. “We are concerned about bigotry of all kinds, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to make sure we eliminate all forms of bigotry in America, including antisemitism,” Sanders, chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP), told Fox News Digital. Asked a second time whether the committee would be willing to hold hearings on displays of campus antisemitism, such as the Gaza solidarity encampment at Columbia University, which has led the school to make classes virtual and…

Five Rohingya found dead after Arakan Army arrest
Five Rohingya Muslims arrested by ethnic minority insurgents in western Myanmar have been found dead, sources close to the victims’ families told Radio Free Asia on Wednesday. The five ethnic Rohingya men were arrested by the Arakan Army in Rakhine State’s Maungdaw township on April 17, they said. Their bodies were found on Monday. The Arakan Army denied killing the men. Rohingya Muslims have faced persecution in Buddhist-majority Myanmar for generations. Recently, they have been targeted by the junta in a recruitment drive to bolster their army’s numbers. Many Rohingya have been forced to move into poorly equipped camps because of a surge in fighting between members of the Arakan…
Sen. Lee rails against spending 'money we don't have' as Senate passes foreign aid bill: 'It’s cowardice'
Utah Sen. Mike Lee, a Republican, criticized the Senate’s passage of the foreign aid package Tuesday night, calling it “wrong,” “shameful” and a “sad day for America” for spending money the government does not have to fund another country’s war. The $95 billion package includes $61 billion to support Ukraine’s war against Russia, $26 billion for Israel and humanitarian aid amid the Jewish State’s war against Hamas and nearly $8 billion for the Indo-Pacific and Taiwan. It would also force TikTok’s China-based parent company ByteDance to sell the platform or face a ban in the U.S. The Senate passed the legislation by a 79 to 18 vote, and it now…
